Thank You Arturas Karnisovas, Sincerely From All of Bulls Nation.

In only his second season as the Chicago Bulls executive vice president of basketball operations, AK has already proven he can do something that the Bulls couldn’t do during the Gar Forman and John Paxson era; bring in key free agents.

Yes, the Bulls had their fair share of success during NBA drafts throughout the “GarPax” tenure with the likes of Kirk Hinrich, Joakim Noah, Luol Deng, Jimmy Butler and not to mention Derrick Rose falling in their laps, but they always failed to bring in stud free agents to play in the city of Chicago.

Why the Bulls could never bring in some of the best talent around the NBA to play in one of the biggest markets in the U.S. always bewildered me.

The big ones here are obviously Lebron James and Dwyane Wade in the summer of 2010, when the Bulls had the chance to sign the dynamic duo but eventually were beaten out by the Miami Heat, and we all know how that went for them.

Could you imagine a starting rotation that had the likes of a prime Derrick Rose, Lebron James and Dwyane Wade? Of course, there’s a lot of what-if's here, but I can’t help but wonder what could’ve been if AK was in the Bulls front office during this time.

Yes, I know the Bulls eventually landed D-Wade a few years later, but it obviously wasn’t the same as his play throughout his Miami days.

But none of that matters now because AK has delivered for the Chicago faithful this offseason bringing in Lonzo Ball and DeMar DeRozan to the Windy City.

Ball, the former second-overall pick in the 2017 draft and DeRozan, a 4x NBA All-Star will be joining the likes of all-star duo Zach Lavine and Nikola Vucevic in Chicago for one of the most anticipated seasons in quite some while for Bulls fans.

Although not as big of an acquisition as the other two, the signing of former Laker guard Alex Caruso is also another sneaky move that I believe is very beneficial to the roster. Caruso is a very athletic guard that plays good defense and can shoot the ball well from three-point land. He’ll be a solid option coming off the bench for Head Coach Billy Donovan.

With a mix of proven veterans and young stars such as Patrick Williams, Coby White and Marko Simonic, AK is setting his team to make the playoffs for the first time since the 2017 season.

With the start of the 2021-22 NBA season still a few months away, AK has quickly changed the culture of the Bulls organization and has dusted off those brutal 20-win seasons the Bulls had just years ago.

It’s a new era for the Chicago Bulls, and for that I give thanks to Arturas Karnisovas.
