Welcome Home Ayo

Ayo Dosunmu, a Chicago native, gathered with family and friends on Thursday as he awaited his future placement in the 2021 NBA draft. With 3 hours into the draft, the Chicago Bulls, with it’s one and only selection picked up Morgan park high school Alum, Ayo Dosunmu in the second round.

Ayo dosunmu was the leading scorer on the Midwest one-seed Illinois team that got upset by eight seeded Loyola-Chicago and Cameron Krutwig. He’s been mocked anywhere from the 20th pick to the 42nd pick in the mock drafts, despite winning the 2021 Bob Cousy award for top point guard in the NCAA. Previously won by Ja Morant, Kemba walker, and many others.

Dosunmu has been described as a combo guard who can defend multiple positions, can score at all three levels, (3 point line, midrange, and at the rim) and an explosive athlete who is tough on the transitions. Ayo’s strengths truly lie in his offensive game, accurate shooting and his rebounding and defending for his position. With 51.1% from the two and 77.7% at the rim, his sophomore year, his ability to finish inside the arc as been a key to his success.

On the other hand, Ayo Dosunmu has not been seen as a plus leaper or athlete with his NBA average max vertical at a 33.5inch. Ayo definitely relies more on his creative finesse and craftiness to score inside.

None the less, we are thrilled to have Ayo Dosunmu apart of the Bulls dynasty as he brings his assets to the team and continues to make his city proud.
