With the opening kickoff of the NFL season less than a week away it’s time to dive into the quarterback position. Down below are my top 12 fantasy quarterbacks ahead of the 2024 season.
If you haven’t drafted yet, use this list as a guide to help you out when drafting a QB. If you have already drafted, then let’s hope you landed someone on this list at great value.
#12. Jayden Daniels: ADP 102
Jayden Daniels might surprise some to be on this list but he has extremely high rushing upside, and a very low ADP. He’s one of the last starting quarterbacks going in most fantasy drafts and is a very low risk, high reward player.
#11. Brock Purdy: ADP 99
Brock Purdy isn’t the prettiest fantasy quarterback by any means. On the other hand, he’s extremely consistent, and in one of the most high powered offenses in the NFL. With Brandon Aiyuk sticking around in San Francisco, I expect another dependable season.
#10. Jordan Love: ADP 71
The QB5 of the 2023 season is one of my favorite value picks in all of fantasy this season. Jordan Love has a very low ADP and I expect him to have a similar season to the one he had last year.
#9 CJ Stroud: ADP 51
C.J Stroud had a phenomenal rookie season last year, but he’s a risky play in 2024 and a player I’m doing my best to avoid. His ADP is extremely high and you’re relying on him to have a season Jordan Love had last year. You’re better off sitting back and drafting Love two rounds later.
#8 Dak Prescott: ADP 70
Dak Prescott is a field general in a high powered offense that relies heavily on the air attack. The loss of running back Tony Pollard will only hurt their run game causing for a larger passing attack in 2024. Expecting a top five finish like he had in 2023 is a little much, but I still expect a big season out of Prescott this year.
#7 Joe Burrow: ADP 60
Not only is Joe Burrow back, but the entire offense will bounce back in 2024. Burrow is a consistent, accurate passer who puts up high passing numbers with his plethora of weapons. With an ADP of 60, he’s not a huge investment to your fantasy lineup.
#6 Kyler Murray: ADP 73
Kyler Murray having an average draft position of 73 this season is comical. Murray will get back to his pre-injury form with Marvin Harrison Jr. and Trey McBride. In his rookie season he finished QB7 due to his dual threat ability, and I fully expect him to exceed those numbers in 2024. Arizona’s defense is very rough and Kyler Murray will be playing plenty of catch up.
#5 Anthony Richardson: ADP 52
I’ll be the first to admit Richardson is a bit of a wild card, but it’s hard to deny his high upside and elite rushing ability. In 2023 his numbers were very limited due to a season ending shoulder injury, but averaging 23 points per game over his three full healthy games as a rookie is phenomenal.
#4 Lamar Jackson: ADP 39
No introduction needed for my number four quarterback, Lamar Jackson. He’s going to go down as the best dual threat quarterback of all time, but his passing numbers have not been able to be amongst the elite of the NFL which keeps him slightly out of the top three.
#3 Patrick Mahomes: ADP 31
Being the best quarterback in the NFL doesn’t make you the best fantasy quarterback in the NFL. Patrick Mahomes still puts up astronomical numbers year after year and is one of those guys who can have 5,000 yards and 50 touchdowns if he wanted to. I expect the additions of Hollywood Brown and Xavier Worthy to boost his numbers in 2024.
#2 Josh Allen: ADP 23
Josh Allen would be number one again if there weren't concerns about his loss of weapons. After the departure of Gabe Davis and Stefon Diggs, some expect a fantasy drop off. I don’t view it that way. His big arm and his rushing ability always keep him a massive fantasy threat.
#1 Jalen Hurts: ADP 30
Jalen Hurts has finished in the top two in fantasy points in back to back seasons amongst quarterbacks. Expect the same in 2024.
