I'm Happy for Giannis... Kinda.

Giannis Antetokoumpo is a fucking tremendous human being. He has one of the greatest stories in the NBA. He wasn’t a highly touted rookie like Zion or LeBron, but he’s playing like one now. He’s crossed every major accolade off his list. MVP, Defensive player of the year, All Star MVP, and now Champion and Finals MVP. Oh and on another note he’s only 26. He’s also an amazing guy. I went to a signing of his back in 2019 and even got a photo with him. When he was making his way out I just happened to be by the exit. The place was packed so he struggled to get out of the building. I was standing shoulder to shoulder with him for about a minute and a half and I already had the picture with him. So I told myself I’m not gonna sit here and fanboy this one. So I just asked him how his day was going before this chaos and we just talked about life back and forth for about 45 seconds. I’m sure it’s a conversation that left his brain the second he walked out the door but that’ll be something that sticks with an average guy forever. So Giannis I would like to give you all the respect. You’ve earned everything that has come to you and it’s only getting started.

Now after that very long congratulations to Giannis you might be very shocked to hear that not for a single second was I rooting for Giannis in any way. You may ask why and the main reason is I’m a Chicago Bulls fan. Now you can sit there and say "well rivalries aren’t nearly as big in the NBA as they are in the NFL" for example. Which is extremely true. The Bulls and Bucks rivalry is nothing but a hair on the left nut of the Bears and Packers rivalry. So in my mind there's millions of Packer fans out there right now that have so much joy in life, which is the exact opposite of what I want. It’s already bad enough that I have to deal with every northern Illinois Bucks fan posted up at the Deer District. And we all know damn well in 3 years when Zach Lavine and Patrick Williams take us to the promised land that all of you who were so happy the Bucks won will be posted up at Grant Park in your Derrick Rose jersey that you got when you were 12.

So I’ve kept my tabs. You know who you are.

Another reason is Wisconsin has had nothing but success for the last 10 years. It’s already hard enough to deal with Wisconsinites. (I don’t know what to call someone from Wisconsin so that’s what I went with) The last thing I need now is another thing being held over my head by these hillbillies. So yeah I’m extremely pissed off that the state of Wisconsin has any sort of joy right now.

And finally I’ve been to Milwaukee. It does not deserve the hate that it gets by any means because it’s a beautiful city. The thing is it doesn’t even come close to Chicago. Chicago is ten times better than that city will ever be. Justin Fields is a Bear. Arturas Karnisovas is going to save the Bulls. Chicago is coming for you Wisconsin.
