Hell is here?

Hell Is Here. In approximately 6 hours after the city of Chicago celebrated the firing of Matt Nagy and Ryan Pace the fans now have quickly hit bottom again. George McCaskey’s presser was by far one of the lowest moments I’ve felt as a fan of this franchise. He showed absolutely nothing for us to believe he is in the right position to be making any football decisions. The faith wasn’t high from the start. The faith isn’t even there anymore.

For starters, Ted Phillips should've been immediately removed from his position along with Pace and Nagy. Ted Phillips has done nothing for this franchise in his 20+ years. George said in his press conference today that Ted will be sticking around to help the Bears in potentially transitioning to Arlington. That’s fine with me. You can give him another position then. He doesn’t need to be in a position that’s taking away a spot from another football focused executive. Another thing that George admitted today is he is a “Football fan, not a football evaluator”. Well George, don't you think we should leave the hiring of our future to a football evaluator? You just admitted that you and Ted shouldn’t be in a position to evaluate football. You two, on the other hand, are going to be in charge of hiring our general manager and head coach. This is a movie we’ve seen numerous times.

So moving forward this is what’s going to happen. Dumb and Dumber are going to hire a GM and HC within the week or two. The GM will report directly to George McCaskey. Ted Phillips will have no control of football operations. They’ve brought 79 year old Bill Polian in to help with decisions. I have zero faith in believing the Bears will make the proper move.

My unfortunate prediction: The Bears will hire Bills DC Leslie Frasier to coach the Bears in the 2022 season. When it comes to the McCaskey’s we know how much they cherish their 1985 Chicago Bears. Leslie Frazier was a defensive back for the Bears Super Bowl team. He has been a very solid defensive coordinator for Buffalo the last two seasons. He has head coaching experience. That’s just a perfect fit for what they see as a football team. Maybe I’m jumping the gun, it's just an interview. I’ve just seen this movie before unfortunately. A search firm hired Jerry Angelo, Ernie Accorsi helped hire Ryan Pace, and now Bill Polian will do the same. It shows that this team cannot make decisions on their own. At the end of the day maybe I’m overreacting. I shouldn’t jump ship due to one press conference. Lucas has much more confidence than I do and that gives me hope. He usually is more of a realist than I am at times. I just feel like I’ve been here before. I don’t want to watch another 3-4 seasons of failure because they can’t get a coach and GM right. Thanks for listening to my rant and Bear Down.
