Getting To Know The Premier League

Get to know the Premier League- England’s finest football competition is back in full swing as the Premier League returns with its faithful fans in the stands. Not familiar with the 20 clubs competing for this year’s title? Well, I will be ranking this year’s top clubs and where I think they’ll finish in the table this season.

1. Manchester United – After a couple of down years at Old Trafford, the Red Devils are poised for

a great run this season after signing Christiano Ronaldo, Raphael Varane and Jadon Sancho in

the transfer window. With already a loaded midfield that consists of Bruno Fernandez and Paul

Pogba, I think Man United has what it takes to dethrone the defending champions and rivals

Manchester City.

2. Manchester City- After coming off a dominating season and winning the premier league last

season, Man City are the favorites to defend their title with the signing of $100 million dollar

man Jack Grealish from Aston Villa. Man City’s depth is sure to have them competing at the top

again this season, but I think they finish just a few points behind their rivals.

3. Chelsea- The reigning Champions League Champions come into the season even stronger after reuniting with former striker Romelu Lukaku. The Belgium striker is the missing piece for the Blues as they struggled to find a reliable attacking option last season despite defeating Man City in the Champions League Final.

4. Liverpool- After a somewhat disappointing season last year, I think Liverpool gets back on track this season with a full stadium of fans at Anfield. Liverpool is also returning star defender Virgil van Dijk to the backline after tearing his ACL and missing most of last season.

5. Tottenham- Off to a strong start so far in the 2021 season, I think the Hotspurs fall just short of the top four despite star striker Harry Kane willing to stay for another year. Kane’s counterpart in Son Hueng-Min is one of the most fun players to watch in the league and it’s hard to root against him. Ultimately, I think Spurs defense ends their hope of returning to the Champions League next year.

6. Leicester City- After just missing out on qualifying for champions league football again last

season, the Foxes are looking to finally break back into the top four since winning the league in

2016.

7. Arsenal is considered on the “big six” clubs in the premier league, but they sure don’t play like it. Currently all the way in 20th place, the Gunners have yet to score a goal in three games this

season and are on pace to get relegated from the league. Obviously, things will start to get

better for the club, but while they’re in last place let’s all laugh at Arsenal. #COYS

Honorable Mentions- Here are a couple of other teams that aren’t considered a part of the big six but could make some noise this season.

West Ham- The Hammers have scored the most goals so far this season and are set to make another top-10 finish this year after coming in sixth last season.

Everton- Everton typically finds themselves near the top-10 and this year should be no different. The team is very well-balanced but isn’t the flashiest of teams.

This season has already shown that the title race will go down to the wire as there are several teams this season that have a serious shot of winning it all. So buckle up, because this season is sure to go down in the books.
